JUVENILE RULE NO. 3

Requirement of Separate Complaints/Petitions

To facilitate compliance with K.S.A. 38-1532 and K.S.A. 38-1625, and requirements of expungement computerization, each complaint or petition shall name only one juvenile offender or minor child.

Upon motion, cases of co-respondents may be consolidated.  Consolidation shall be to the division which has been assigned the case with the lowest case number.   Dispositions of co-respondents shall be handled separately.  Child in Need of Care cases involving minor children from the same household shall be consolidated for all purposes, unless a motion for separate proceedings is filed.
