CRIMINAL RULE NO. 17

Panel To Aid Indigent Defendants; Appointments

The Judges of the District Court shall make appointments of counsel from the Misdemeanor Panel to Aid Indigent Defendants in rotation unless in the discretion of the Judge the nature and/or gravity of the crime charged or other circumstances require variance from rotation. Appointments of counsel for felony cases in which the Public Defender is not appointed shall be consistent with the provisions of K.S.A. 22-4522 and K.A.R. 105-3-2.
