Requesting Civil and Criminal Transcripts

  • Determine if the hearing was reported by a court reporter or recorded by electronic recording by looking the case up by hearing date at www.jococourts.org
  • If the hearing was reported by a reporter, contact the court reporter entered on the entry for the date of the hearing. Leave the court reporter a message with your transcript request, the case number, and the hearing date.
  • If the hearing was recorded electronically (ER), contact the court reporter assigned to that court. If the ER hearing was in Divisions 13 or 15, call 913-715-3783, If the hearing was in magistrate court (M-1, M-2, or M-3), call 913-715-3843. Leave the court reporter a message with your ER transcript request, the case number, the hearing date, and the tape and counter numbers indicated on the www.jococourts.org entry.
  • The court reporter will return your call and give you an estimate of the cost of the transcript. Commencement of the preparation of the transcript is not commenced until payment of the estimated cost is received. Please allow time for the preparation of the transcript.
