Juvenile Educational Groups
ANGER CONTROL GROUPS -- Your Court Services Officer will provide you with a list of court approved Anger Control Groups or you may get the list online. You are responsible for contacting one of the agencies on this list and setting an appointment for the classes. The cost of the classes will vary depending on the agency you choose. C.O.D.E.-J. -- Cops On Drug Enforcement for Juveniles meets 2 times a month from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson County Court Services, 18505 W. 119th, Olathe, KS. Your Court Services Officer will refer you to this group. You will receive a letter from the Sheriff's Department informing you of the date you are scheduled to attend. One parent must attend this group along with the youth. There is no charge for this group. CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS AND PROPERTY -- This group meets on the 3rd and 4th Thursday of each month from 4:30 - 6:00 P.M. at the Johnson County Court Services Office, 18505 W. 119th, Olathe, KS, 66061. Your Court Services Officer will refer you and at least one parent to this group. You will receive a letter from the group facilitator telling you what date the sessions you have been referred to will begin. You and your parent must attend both sessions to get credit for this class. There is no charge for this group. DRUG/ALCOHOL EDUCATION SERIES -- Your court services officer will provide you with a list of court approved drug and alcohol treatment agencies that offer the EDUCATION SERIES or you may get the list online. You are responsible for contacting one of these agencies to sign up for the next available series. The dates and times of these groups will vary. There is a fee for this 6 hour group; prices may vary. SHOPLIFTING EDUCATION PROGRAM -- This group meets the 1st and 2nd Thursday of each month from 4:30 - 6:00 P.M. at the Johnson County Court Services Office, 18505 W. 119th, Olathe, KS , 66061. Your Court Services Officer will refer you to this group. You will receive a letter from the group facilitator telling you what dates you are to attend. You must attend both sessions to get credit for this class. There is no charge for this group. STREET LAW -- Meets every Wednesday from 4:30 - 5:30 P.M. at the Johnson County Court Services Office at 18505 W. 119th, Olathe, KS, 66061. Your Court Services Officer will refer you to this group. You will receive a letter from the group leader telling you what date you are to begin. You must attend all sessions consecutively to get credit for this class. There is no charge for this group. STOP SMOKING CLINIC -- Youths required to attend this clinic are those who continue to use tobacco products. Your Court Services Officer will give you a list of agencies that offer this clinic. You are responsible for contacting one of the agencies and enrolling in their next available clinic. In most cases, there is a fee for attending this group, the prices will vary. JUVENILE PEER PANEL -- This panel typically meets the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 - 8:15 P.M. at the Johnson County Court Services Office, 18505 W. 119th Olathe, KS, 66061. You only need to attend this panel one time. It is not necessary for you to sign up for this group. You may choose to come any month as long as it falls within the time frame of your Diversion or probation. There is a $5.00 fee for those on probation.
