Juvenile Drug/Alcohol
Treatment Options
Any youth who has completed a Court Approved Juvenile Drug/Alcohol Evaluation will be
informed by the evaluator what recommendations will be made to the Court. The Johnson
County Drug/Alcohol Advisory Board in conjunction with Johnson County Juvenile Court
Services has classified the levels of intervention into Options.
If a youth is recommended for one of these Options, then the components of the specific
Option must be met for successful completion.
OPTION 1 includes:
OPTION 2 includes:
- All of the requirements of Option 1 (see above)
- 4 - 10, one-hour individual, group or family counseling sessions.
OPTION 3 includes:
- All of the requirements of Option 1 (see above)
- 3 hours of weekly individual, group or family counseling for a period of 6 -12 weeks
with a minimum of 3 hours total of family counseling
- A minimum of 4 months of aftercare support services
OPTION 4 includes:
- The C.O.D.E.-J. Education class with at least one parent
(2 hours)
- The Juvenile Peer Panel (1.5 hours)
- The Juvenile Drug/Alcohol Education Series Content Objectives must be covered during
treatment
- A minimum of 6 hours of individual, group or family counseling for a period of 6-12
weeks with weekly family counseling
- Relapse education
- A minimum of 6 months of weekly aftercare support services
OPTION 5 includes:
- A minimum of 28 days of residential/inpatient alcohol and other drug treatment.
- Weekly family counseling
- The Juvenile Drug/Alcohol Education Series Content Objectives must be covered during
treatment
- Relapse Education
- C.O.D.E.-J. Education class (2 hours)
- A minimum of 6 months of weekly aftercare support services
- Random drug testing
