Juvenile Sanctions House The goal of the Sanctions House Program is to provide youth with educational tools for self improvement to make better decisions. Youth leaving the program are likely to be better prepared to make decisions that will lead them into law abiding behaviors. Sanctions House is a seven-day intervention program developed as a consequence for those violating Court ordered supervision. This is accomplished through their incarceration in detention and the youths participation in personal skills seminars. Sanctions House is intended to provide a measure of consequence which impacts the freedom of youth who violated their conditions of supervision. The program partners with county resources to provide an effective cognitive behavior management approach to deal with the juvenile offender. The Sanctions House Program is operated in the Juvenile Detention Center which allows for maximum supervision. The youths compliance and level of active participation are criteria in which the court will consider in a weekly review. Upon review, the court will determine whether the youth can be successfully released from the program or remanded. Pursuant to K.S.A. 38-1663, the youth can spend up to 28 days in the program.
