Case Managment
Types of Services
Custody Cases
- Juveniles placed in the custody of Juvenile Justice Authority (JJA) have been removed
from the home for a variety of reasons. They are placed in an environment that can monitor
and help modify the juveniles behavior with the usual intent to reunite them with
their family.
- The juveniles family members are involved in the treatment process and are often
involved in counseling or guidance themselves.
- Placement is considered temporary as the juvenile will normally be returning to the
family. In some instances, the juvenile will pursue independent living arrangements with
their case manager.
- Placements can range from emergency shelter, foster care placement, group home
placement, to a psychiatric hospital setting. The case manager makes an assessment along
with a team to determine the needs of each juvenile. While in custody, the juvenile may be
able to avail themselves to many different types of additional services.
Non-Custody Cases
- The JJA recognizes the benefit of intervening with a juvenile offender prior to placing
them outside of the home. Therefore JJA has contracted with various agencies across the
state to provide a variety of services for juveniles and their families to help correct
any problems that, if continued, would result in the juvenile being placed outside of the
home.
- These services include but are not limited to:
* GED Preparation
* Individual and Family Counseling
* Mediation Services
* Crossroads - Cognitive/Behavior Management Program
* ACCESS - Day Reporting Program
* In-Home Intensive Therapy
* Adolescent Support
* Electronic Monitoring
