Juvenile Case Management Services

The Kansas Juvenile Justice Authority (JJA) came into existence in July, 1997, with the charge of implementing a full array of community-based prevention, sanction, and placement services for juvenile offenders.

The Case Management Unit was originated to supervise and guide the cases of youth placed in the custody of the Juvenile Justice Authority for suitable placement. Prior to the creation of JJA, Kansas State Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) had the responsibility of supervising these cases. In May of 1998, the final transition of cases from SRS to JJA occurred.
