Adult Corrections - Professional Job Opportunities

Johnson County Corrections Adult Services has offices in Olathe, Merriam and Kansas City, Missouri. Our Residential/Therapeutic Community is located near Gardner, Kansas. We are an American Correction Association accredited program which has a commitment to excellence in the services we provide. Employment opportunities include:

Transportation Officer
Transports residents to and from employment, appointments, and other approved locations. Maintain and upkeep department vehicles. Qualified applicants must have a high school education, a valid driver's license, knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and driving experience. No CDL license required. Prefer applicants with knowledge/experience in a corrections setting.

Correctional Advisor - (full and part-time)
Monitors activities of felony and misdemeanor residents, prepares reports and other related duties. Qualified applicants must have a 2 year degree in a behavioral science or related field with related experience. A Bachelors degree is preferred. Must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in team environment. Flexibility in scheduling is needed.

House Arrest Officer
Individual to supervise clients' activities at home, school, work and other approved locations, utilizing electronic monitoring equipment. Provides guidance/assistance to those clients in achieving their goals and coordinating delivery of services based on individual needs. The position requires a four year degree in a behavioral science or related field, with 2 years of experience in corrections. Preference will be given to those with case management experience. Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule and function well in a team environment.

Residential Supervision Officer
Develops individual program contracts/plans for felony and misdemeanor residents. Provides guidance/assistance to residents in achieving their goals and coordinating delivery of services based on clients needs. Ensures compliance with the order of probation. The position requires a four year degree in a behavioral science or related field and two years of experience in the field of corrections. Preference will be given to those with case management experience.

Intensive Supervision Officer
Will provide intensive post-release supervision for misdemeanor and felony offenders. Monitors client activity, assisting in achieving individual goals and coordinating the delivery of client services based on needs. Ensures compliance with the order of probation. The position requires a four year degree in a behavioral science or related field and two years of experience in the field of corrections. Preference will be given to those with case management experience.

Resource Developer
Assists felony and misdemeanor clients with securing employment, conducting job classes and other job search training/education. Places clients in community service projects, develops service resources for offenders in the metro area, and monitors client activity. Requires heavy involvement with the community and employers. The position requires a four year degree in a behavioral science or related field and two years of experience in the field of corrections or other related experience.

Case Monitor
Will prepare probation plans/recommendations for felony and misdemeanor offenders eligible for the program. Collaborates with court services staff, defense attorneys, district attorneys office, officials and service providers to facilitate correctional planning. The position requires a four year degree in a behavioral science or related field and two years of experience in the field of corrections.
