Adult Volunteer Opportunities

The volunteer program has been in place at the Adult Residential Center for more than ten years.  All residents are place here by court order.   Our residents are required to work, pay taxes, court costs, fines and any victim restitution while they are on probation/parole and staying in our facility.

If you truly want to make a difference in someone's life, there is probably no greater an opportunity than in working with offenders.  Staff and volunteers form a partnership working toward a common goal of helping offenders reintegrate back into the community as law-abiding citizens. Volunteers at our facility serve many roles:

  • Teacher
  • Friend
  • Mentor
  • Role model

Please feel free to review our volunteer job descriptions and the steps it takes to become a volunteer. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, or have a special interest that is not listed in our job descriptions, please contact Carole Thrasher, Volunteer Coordinator at 913-829-0800 x56342 or by e-mail at Carole.Thrasher@jocogov.org
